                                                   Annual Events at Longueville House 2018

Longueville House organises a variety of occasional and annual on-site events for your enjoyment and entertainment.  Why not avail of these unique, some educational and all fun filled opportunities hosted on-site and within the grounds of our 450-acre wooded estate.
 

Saint Patricks Day

Saturday March 17th 

Join us for some ceol agus craic and some old fashioned Irish hospitality this St. Patrick's weekend March 16th, 17th and 18th. Overnight and dinner guests of Longueville House can enjoy the company, traditional music and singing of old friend and Bard Extraordinaire, Jimmy Crowley. Relax after dinner in our drawing room where Jimmy will entertain and play a few tunes from 9pm onwards.

2 night stays including dinner, bed & breakfast from €468

Dawn Chorus Walk & Breakfast

Sunday 13th May

The Dawn Chorus Walk takes place at 4am sharp on Sunday, May 13th, National Dawn Chorus Day. The magnificent grounds of Longueville House, will host its eighth dawn chorus walk with professional bird watching guide Michael Cobley, chair of the West Cork branch of Bird Watch Ireland, who will share his years of experience by guiding groups of all levels of experience around the grounds of the estate identifying the various birds in the vicinity.A post-walk question and answer session will offer participants the opportunity to discuss and reflect on the chorus with Michael. Birds heard and some seen in past events include Blackbird, Song Thrush, Robin, Wren, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Chifchaff, Rook, Hooded Crow, Swallow, Chafinch, Magpie, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Great Tit, Jackdaw, Raven, Dunock, Starling, Jay, Meadow Pipit, Greenfinch, Goldfinch & Bullfinch.


The price of the event is €55 per adult & €20 per child under 13 year and includes the guided Dawn Chorus, Buffet Breakfast plus post breakfast discussion.

17th Annual Mushroom Hunt at Longueville House

Sunday 7th October

Don your boots and wellies and hike around the estate in search of edible mushroom varieties home grown here on our Estate. With the guidance of our very own mushroom expert Maria Cullen and Jim Fraser, you can discover the pleasure of this exciting activity here at Longueville House. Afterwards Chef/Proprietor William O'Callaghan, along with his team, will prepare and for you a banquet of autumn mushrooms from the day's harvest. A fun day out for all and ideal for beginners. Please note that mushroom hunts takes place in all sorts of weather so are rarely cancelled due to inclement weather.


Price per Adult:

€85 to include Coffee/Homemade Cookies on arrival, Mushroom Hunt, Luncheon with Wine.

Price per Child (4years - 12years):

€25 to include Milk & Cookies on arrival, Mushroom Hunt, Kiddies Luncheon with Farm Pressed Apple Juice

Family Pack:

€199 Two Adults & Two children under 12 years old.

Booking & Cancellation Policy:

Advance booking & pre-payment by credit card or cheque is required as numbers accommodated for this event are limited. Booking confirmation will be guaranteed on receipt of payment. Cancellation is required within 2 days of the event to avoid penalty of payment in full. Cancellations before this time will be refunded payment minus 20% handling fee. Please book early as spaces are limited.
