In Longueville we like to to celebrate each changing season. We offer a host of educational, entertaining & mouth-watering events on our unique property nestled in 450 acres of the Blackwater valley.
Longueville House serves delicious Traditional Afternoon Teas full of treats, one Saturday per month. All breads and pastries are baked daily on-site, preserve from our hedgerows & walled garden, served with freshly brewed leaf teas and coffees. A very civilised way to spend an afternoon with friends and loved ones. Served in one of our three dining areas, sitting time is from 2pm until 4pm. Price €30 per person. Please note that our afternoon tea is very popular and pre-booking is essential. For tables of 6 guests or more a deposit of €90 is required.
10% service charge is to the bill for groups in excess of 8 guests.
A minimum charge equivalent to 12 guests or more applies outside of the above dates and is subject to availability.

Participants meet Ornithologist Calvin Jones at Longueville House early at 4am for a brief orientation & maps distributed of various sites on the estate. Participants set off on tour. Later the groups return home to clean up & enjoy a hearty countryhouse style breakfast or tea & sandwiches (for evening participants). In Longueville the reward at the end of a walk is as important as the actual walk itself!
Afterwards a cosy chat, questions & answers session in the drawing room by the fire. Longueville is known for its more intimate chorus walks, in luxorious surroundings, allowing participants to benefit from more of the guide's time & attention.

Warm outdoor clothing with hiking boots/wellies depending on the weather.
Waterproof hats and overcoats, umbrellas due to our inclement weather; even a pair of sunglasses may come in handy; binoculars if you readily have them - not essential.

Don your boots and wellies and hike around the estate in search of edible mushrooms varieties home grown here on our Estate. With the guidance of our very own mushroom experts and enthusiasts Maria Cullen, Howard Fox and Jim Fraser, you can discover the pleasure of this exciting sport here at Longueville House. Afterwards Chef/Proprietor William O’Callaghan along with his team will prepare and cook for you a banquet of autumn mushrooms from the day’s harvest. A fun day out for all & ideal for beginners. Please note that mushroom hunts take place in all sorts of weather so are rarely cancelled due to inclement weather.
Participants meet at Longueville House Hotel. A brief introduction to Guides and orientation and maps distributed of mushroom sites on Longueville Estate. Participants may set off at their own pace, and break up into smaller groups. Non-plastic containers are recommended for collection of mushrooms. Bring wellies or hiking boots and layered clothing.
Groups return to Hotel to clean up, examine mushroom harvest and brief discussion with Q&A session while enjoying a welcome glass of our seasonal house cider cocktail.
A highlight of the day is our legendary luncheon. This follows in our Presidents’ Restaurant/ Turner Conservatory with a specially prepared & chosen three- course buffet meal by Chef/Proprietor William O’Callaghan.
Price per Adult €85 includes Coffee/Homemade Cookies on arrival, Mushroom Hunt, Luncheon with Longueville Cider.
